The following examples demonstrate the application of the Block Library Function Chart for the design of event-driven systems. Function Chart has been developed on the basis of the VDI / VDE guideline 3684 "Description of event-driven motion processes by function charts":

Num.   Name  Description
1   bs1_avaz  Simple alternative branching
2   bs1a_avaz  Alternative branching by means of the ZE block (Common state with decoupling)
3   bs2_pvpz  Simple parallel branching
4   bs2a_pvpz  Parallel branching by means of the ZE block (Common state with decoupling)
5   bs2b  Parallel branching without event within
6a   bs3_ko1  Nested branching I
6   bs3_ko2  Nested branching II
7   bs4_mkb2  Simple application of block KB (Comment)
8   bs5_mkb3g  Overall structure with one function chart, two drives and timer
(approx. 9 events occur within 500ms; acceleration and speed are setpoints)
9   bs7_efsm  Overall structure with sub function charts, three drives, Boolean equations for the events and handling of a group-error
10   bs8_fvz  Simple nested error handling
