Our Goals: Science and Personal Development

The research approach is centered on the development and utilization of a new class of circuits. These circuits are not based on traditional semiconductor materials, but rather on smart materials. This innovative approach allows for the direct processing of multimodal content, which includes physical, chemical, and biological aspects of environmental information, eliminating the need for electronics.

The manufacturing process of these circuits is significantly simplified, requiring less energy and fewer materials. This also results in an extremely simplified system architecture, reducing the need for control computers, motors, sensors, and other components.

Furthermore, the approach embraces the duality of information and energy. This principle leads to a substantial reduction in the demand for electrical energy, making the system more energy-efficient. This research approach, therefore, not only offers a new perspective on information processing but also contributes to energy conservation.

The scientific groups work closely together:

The personal development of the young researchers is paramount. With MultiMOD, they thus have the opportunity to learn essential research skills, and everything else they need for their future endeavours in science, industry, or government.
