WELCOME!

The 6th Workshop on 'Analysis and Advanced Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations (for Junior Scientists)' (AANMPDE-6-13) will take place from July 8-12 2013 in Strobl am Wolfgangsee, Austria, and is organized by six different mathematical institutes from four different countries:
Fakultät für Mathematik, Universität Duisburg-Essen, Campus Essen, Germany
Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM), Austrian Academy of Sciences, Linz, Austria
Institut für Numerische Mathematik, Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Austria
Euler International Mathematical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia
Steklov Mathematical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia
Department of Mathematical Information Technology (MIT), University of Jyväskylä, Finland

aims and scopes
The goal of the workshop is to bring together (young) researchers and internationally well known scientists working on mathematical and numerical analysis for mathematical models based on partial differential equations within a nice and friendly atmosphere.

main topics
• mathematical analysis of models based on partial differential equations: solution theories,
       asymptotic analysis, regularity
• advanced numerical methods for partial differential equations: approximation theory,
rate convergence estimates, a priori and a posteriori error analysis, error indicators,
       adaptivity
• new mathematical models in applied science and engineering
• optimization methods for models based on partial differential equations
• Maxwell's equations
• elasticity and plasticity
